Welcome Session I: Internet in Hungary - Policy, Legislation and Market Perspectives
In the first half of 2011 Hungary has overtaken the rotating presidency of the European Union. The EU has adopted its Digital Agenda 2020 and Hungary is now on its way to transform the EU Telecom Package into national legislation, which will affect also the Internet. In the first session the national Hungarian Internet policy and market development is presented by key players from the government and the private sector, including a presentation on the management of the .hu ccTLD Registry.

Session II: Towards a New Collaborative Model - The Role of Governments in Internet Governance?
The Internet is “governed” by broad variety of governmental and non-governmental players. The principle of “mulktistakeholderism” has evolved as a basic principle for Internet Governance. However, there is an ongoing discussion about what the role of governments is and will be in the future of the governance of the Internet. The session will discuss the outcomes of recent meetings of the UN, ITU, IGF, Council of Europe and others and will have also a look into the first results of the Review Team under ICANNs Affirmation of Commitments (AoC).

Next Generation Networks - Where we are in the Year 2015?
Regardless of the financial and economic crises: The Internet is further growing fast. It has now 2 billion users worldwide. With more and more mobile devices which are connected to the Internet and the perspective of Cloud Computing and the “Internet of Things” the question is whether we will see a further evolutionary development, or whether we reach a moment, where the Internet collapses and becomes more fragmented. What are the consequences for Internet Governance? With the ONS, wallet gardens and social networks, do we move into a more federated and decentralized governance mechanism for the Network of the Future which is constituted by a number of “Internets”?
